The Linux and Windows servers are the main forms of hosting web content at the moment. Therefore, when organizations want to set up their own servers, they must choose from either one of these major server types. The question is often raised however regarding the preferred option out of the two.
Some have argued that the Linux based sites unfortunately get more instances of hacking as a result of the vulnerable scripts that are used. Others have suggested that Linux is still safe and stable for the most part. Windows servers, on the other hand, tend to be more expensive. The reason for the higher cost is due to expenses for the Windows software. Windows is usually more stable than Linux as well.
