64-bit Linux is here... NOW!
I chanced upon Ms. Caitlyn Martin's experiences using 64-bit Ubuntu and found that she did not have a near-perfect experience, e.g., sound does not always work. I agree with her that 64-bit computing is not being used since most applications are not primed for it, i.e., mostly use only 32-bits. If you have a 64-bit machine, I urge you to install a 64-bit operating system to maximize performance.

My experience differs from Ms. Martin's - I use a 64-bit Solaris install and a 64-bit Ubuntu install on VMWare Fusion running on Mac OS X. Like her experience, the performance boost is really evident - it is definitely faster. However, mine did not have the audio quirks that she experienced. weirdlinks, huh?

Again, don't believe us. Try it for yourself and weep. Weep that you have not been using your machines to its full potential. :D
