Appnr – easy way to install apps
Gone are the days of invoking "configure;make;make install" when one needs to install a single application on Linux. (well, it is still there but mostly used by hard-core geeks hehe). Now, it easy to install software via synaptic or the command-line apt-get. Fast forward some more and you now have a tool that allows you to install applications from a website! Yes, a website named Appnr.com. You just select your software and click on INSTALL and boom! It gets automatically processed, downloaded and installed!
These features and services that make Linux easier to use make it closer to being completely 100% consumer user friendly, don't you think?

Short of the integration with apt this reminds me of 0install: http://0install.net/
I have been using a 0installed desktop (rox-desktop) for many years. It used to be unique but now it seems common

Hi, I just wanted to let you know of website in the same spirit, called allmyapps ( http://www.allmyapps.com ). It is a website we launched a few days ago and which aims at helping new users find their way through the applications searching and installing process. As it is targeted mostly to newcomers, we tried to focus a lot on usability. I thought you might have been interested in giving it a try… we’re really looking for feedbacks!
