Question of the week: what's the likely impact of Google's Chrome OS on the Linux community?

"Much of the discussion around Google's new PC operating system has focused on a looming battle with Windows, but the biggest losers could be other Linux OSes that have been enjoying some moderate success on netbooks… just when some Linux distributions seemed to be gaining a foothold, Google may soon curtail their success," writes PC World's Agam Shah. "The strength of its brand, and its reputation as a company that builds sleek and easy-to-use products, means it could steamroll over the other Linux candidates…"

I honestly think, being that it’s open source that Chrome OS will result in existing Linux distros becoming more integrated with the web. Possibly even creating a few OS calls for the browser.
