Dell enters the netbook market
Filed in archive Devices on September 14, 2008

In a market that Asus sparked with their Eee PC series, Dell releases their netbook competitor, the Dell Mini 9. The specs is similar to most netbooks available in the market with models running Linux or Windows. In Dell's mini 9, it uses Ubuntu 8.04 on its 1.6GHz Intel Atom-based netbook with 1024x600 8.9inch LED display, 512MB RAM, 4GB SSD, Intel GMA950, IEEE 802.11g wireless card and a 4-cell battery. Dell even bundles a 2GB free internet storage from Box.net to complement its 4GB SSD storage - all for US$349.
This is a sleek machine that I, myself, would want to get. However, I wish that getting the RAM bumped to 2GB still makes it below the US$500 mark.
What do you think?
