Desktop wars
We are familiar with Gnome and KDE, the desktop environments shipped with most Linux distributions. Do you have an idea how these two desktop environments came about? Well, PC Authority's Leighlinks Dyer presents "A tale of two desktops", a brief history of the two most popular desktop environment available in Linux today.

So, wherever your loyalties are, it is always best to know the competition, so to speak. I just wish that both communities will agree on a common look-and-feel for a uniformed Linux environment. What say you?
