First look at the Classmate PC
Filed in archive Devices on May 27, 2007
In the previous entry, I talked about the OLPC looking for game developers. Whilst writing that entry, I stumbled upon a Linux.com article, written by Tina Gasperson, about Intel's Classmate PC, Intel's answer to the OLPC. I envy Ms. Gasperson (with her 8-year old daughter) for having spent several days (five!) with the Classmate PC and put it to its paces. Fortunately, Mandriva was running on the machine (Classmate PC supports Windows, too).
Read their "Five days with the Classmate PC and Mandriva" and find out if the Classmate PC lives up to the hype.
Now if only my editors will be able to give me a full two weeks of hands-on experience with the OLPC... :)
