How to add 100s more free fonts to Ubuntu

To those who are fond of using different fonts for their typesetting and publishing tasks, it pays to have a huge collection of fonts available. Ubuntu provides several fonts built-in but here's how to get more than 400 new free fonts for Ubuntu.

Note, however, that some fonts are freeware and not open sourced.
