iPlayer now on Linux

Filed in archive Entertainment by Rom Feria on December 21, 2007

When the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) launched their iPlayer service during the summer, their software was only available on Windows. This has enraged non-Windows users and complaint to BBC for not having Mac and linux versionslinks of the software.

iPlayer now on Linux

Now, BBC provides software for all three major platforms, Windows, Mac and Linux. Talk about victory for both Mac and Linux users! Now, if only they will have a Java-version to make sure that it is truly cross-platform (read: runs on Solaris, too!).

Anyway, if it were released 6 years ago, I could have tested it since I was living in London then. Unfortunately, the service is only available within the UK so I could not test it. Maybe we have a reader from the UK who can help write a review. :)
