Is Linux Web Hosting Better Than Windows Web Hosting?

There are ongoing debates between the Windows fans on the one side and the Linux fans on the other side. Apart from arguments over the best operating system that they offer, Windows and Linux have been fighting over the territory of web hosting too.

Fundamentally, a question that Linux users should ask is this: Is Linux web hosting better than Windows web hosting?

Linux fans will likely agree, but there are a number of features to consider with each. Regarding account access, both Linux and Windows web hosting allows FTP access though the command like or a graphical client. However, Linux web hosting cannot support Microsoft technology such as ASP, FrontPage and MSSQL. If Microsoft technology is required, then Windows web hosting will be more suitable than Linux.

Users of web hosting will also require affordable hosting plans. Although the Linux operating system is free and open source while the Windows operating system is proprietary and often expensive, this does not mean that Linux web hosting is free or any cheaper than Windows web hosting. Their pricing is similar, so Linux fans will need to find the cheapest Linux hosting for their website needs.
