Linux embedded in your motherboard
Michael Larabel of Phoronix reviews the new asus motherboardlinks that comes embedded with Linux, a web browser (Firefox) and a VoIP client (Skype). Whilst this may be overkill to some, it simply makes sense specially if you simply need to turn on your computer to do a quick email check or retrieve something off of the internet. How many times did you find yourself waiting for your computer to boot up its full operating system? :)

Several portable computers provide the feature of video and audio playback without booting up the operating system but this one takes the cake. Imagine, surfing the web without booting up your computer? Hehehe. You cannot do that with Windows, can you?

I just hope that this becomes a standard and be used by everyone (Apple, are you listening?). It would simply make computing easier. Heck. you can even use it as a simple dumb terminal, right? :)
