Linux flying the friendly skies
Filed in archive Devices on August 26, 2007
Singapore Airlines is the first fleet to provide full Linux computers to every passenger in its flights. Unlike other airlines that provide Linux-based in-flight entertainment only, Singapore Airlines adds full desktop computing experience using red hat linux, e.g., office productivity using Star Office, with USB support for your thumbdrives. The only thing missing is internet connectivity.
I wonder - since the computers in every seat are networked, networked games will be blast! Now I am waiting for the first one to have a hands-on report on this. Care to share your experience?
