Linux for Doctors

Linux for Doctors

Healthcare Informatics (you can call it Biomedical Informatics or simply Medical Informatics) is a research area that interests me. This new linux distribution, Linux for Clinics, is a welcome addition to the arsenal of open source applications for medical practitioners. Based on Ubuntu, Linux for Clinics is now on alpha version and ready for testing. Here's an excerpt from their website:

The Linux For Clinics (LFC) Project consists of a team of people who have a common interest in health, medicine, humanity and free and open source software (FOSS). Our team represents a community that shares the common ideals of aiding mankind and treating everyone with respect so that they will treat others in kind. This philosophy is represented by the African word 'UBUNTU' which means 'Humanity Towards Others'.

So, if you are in the healthcare industry, I highly recommend that you check this out or better yet, contribute! :)
