Linux is preferred by airline industry
Linux.com reveals that Linux-based airline entertainment system from Panasonic won this year's Avion Award. This extends in-seat entertainment to audio and video on demand, multi-player games, online books and even ordering food online!

In a similar setup, Virgin America uses a Linux-based system using components from Panasonic. However, Virgin extends the service by providing airplane-wide wifi!

Imagine the possibilities... now, I wonder if VoIP is allowed in these wired flights. :) Wish that Philippine Airlines get equipped with this new technology soon.
