's Dave Gutteridge writes "Windows is Free: The impact of pirated software on free software" as a reaction to a May 2007 ZDNet article by Adrian Kingsley-Hughes. He lists several points on the merits of Linux whilst mentioning software piracy, particularly pirating Windows OS. Mr. Gutteridge states "If you're using a cracked copy of Windows, you have at least one less reason to feel guilty." For me, this is enough reason not to use Windows - I don't want to pay for its crappy software and nor do I want to illegally acquire and use it. I honestly think that this is the right way to do. Don't pirate it regardless of whether you are hurting Microsoft (or other commercial software company) or helping it. It just is not right and it is but right to feel guilty.
