Please do not get tired of hearing about new Linux distributions. This is both the good and the bad aspect of open source – good in the sense that you are free to create your own distribution and bad because it tends to make it more difficult for users to choose the appropriate one for them. Anyway, here's the latest round-up of Linux distributions, both new and upgrades.
1. Trisquel Linux – a set of Linux distribution sponsored by the government of Galicia, Spain.
2. Fedora 7 Test 1 – the unified Fedora distribution that merges both Fedore Core and Fedora Extras.
3. Scientific Linux 5 alpha Live CD/DVD – contains a preview of the soon-to-be-released Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5. Scientific Linux is an attempt to standardize the Linux distribution used by the scientific community like researchers at CERN and Fermilabs.
