Will the Asus EEE PC get more kids to use Linux?

Filed in archive Devices by Rom Feria on November 10, 2007

The less than USD400 Linux-based ultra-portable computer from Asus, the EEE PC, is one sleek device. Weighing in at less than a kilo but running Linux with 512MB of RAM and up to 4GB of flash-based storage with full wifi, support for external monitor and even has a webcam! :) Whilst I have yet to get my hands on one, I am sharing a video (by the downloadsquad.com) with you.

Whilst you may notice that the interface may not be as hard-core as most of us Linux users would like, the downloadsquad.com folks gives us a quick tip on how to change the interface to what we are all familiar with, the full desktop.

I cannot wait to get my hands on one. I hope that my bosses here will send me one for Christmas. :)
