Wine 0.9.39

Wine 0.9.39

Another gift from Wine Headquarters, an update to the Windows emulator for Linux and other Unix-based systems, bumping it to version 0.9.39. A short-list of what's new:

  • Many MSHTML improvements.
  • Several improvements to the sound support.
  • A number of Winsock fixes.
  • Several new supported constructs in the IDL compiler.
  • Many Direct3D threading fixes.
  • Lots of bug fixes.

For quick download, get it straight from the source.

With virtualization progressing on a rather quicker pace, I hope that WINE steps up and provides us with more functionality. Personally, I'd rather use WINE than install a full OS just to run an application or two. :)
